About Surrey Cyber Security Cluster
Cyber Security is a key strength of Surrey’s economy. Two of the UK’s Gold Standard Cyber Security Universities (Royal Holloway and University of Surrey) are in Surrey, alongside SMEs and major players in the industry like BAE Systems, Cisco, and VMWare. Therefore, in 2022, Surrey County Council and these bodies, with support from the Department for Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) and UK Cyber Cluster Collaboration (UKC3), formed the Surrey Cyber Security Cluster. It aims to drive cyber innovation in Surrey by enabling connections, capacity building, and collaboration.
The Cluster’s priorities include:
- Ecosystem Development – Expand membership and links with Surrey’s business community.
- Innovation and Growth – Promote business growth, investment, and innovation.
- Cyber Skills and Diversity – Attract cyber professionals and students while championing inclusion.
In 2024/25, the focus of the Surrey Cyber Security Cluster will be on commercialising and ensuring the cluster’s financial sustainability.
