We are announcing the closure of the Surrey Cyber Security Cluster. We do so with a strong sense of pride in what has been built since the Cluster was formed. This initiative has brought people, ideas, and innovation into one space—fostering collaboration, strengthening resilience, and raising awareness of the critical role cyber security plays in Surrey and beyond.
While this chapter is ending, the connections formed, knowledge shared, and momentum created will continue to have a lasting impact. The true success of the cluster lies not just in its activities, but in the community, it has helped shape.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and energy, especially to the businesses and volunteers who have supported us. Your commitment has been invaluable. Special mentions go out to SocialOptic, BAE Systems, Akamai and Biterra who supported the cluster with their expertise and resources. Our volunteer Ambassadors, Lina Boudelaa, Keleigh Berenger, and Zoë Bowden have been enormously helpful in supporting the Cluster with its initiatives.
We would also like to extend our thanks to our Advisory Board: Prof Ioana Boureanu (University of Surrey), Paul Scott (Royal Holloway, University of London), Prof Keith Martin (Royal Holloway, University of London), Jude Middleton (Surrey County Council), and Ian Florey (Akamai) for their contributions.
Though the cluster is closing, the conversation and collaboration it inspired do not end here. We encourage you all to continue building on these foundations, supporting one another, and driving innovation in cyber security wherever your work takes you. Hani Momeninia will continue the work with the UK Cyber Team and Agent X. Please do get in touch with him if you would like to get involved.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
